Woodstock, Georgia was the only city in GA to make Money magazine’s list of the “50 Best Places to Live in America“. Money ranks “the 50 best small cities in the country—places with great jobs, strong economies, affordable homes, excellent schools, and that special something that makes it a great place to live”.
And that “best” rating seems proven by the housing data for Woodstock. Both zip codes (East and West of Interstate 575) have had a very strong three year run.
Woodstock was #3 of the 50 in lowest taxes and #8 in affordability of homes which are two major positive factors. As noted, “Woodstock has more than doubled in size in the past 10 years, attracting residents with its proximity to Atlanta, just 30 miles to the south, affordable housing, and strong job growth”. There are a number of very attractive homes for sale in Woodstock, GA and that is a big reason for the growth.
Developers have noticed the opportunity and over the last several years the downtown area has been completely redesigned and anchored by gorgeous mixed use residential construction, a major outlet mall arrived and is already planning expansion, a state of the art hospital complex is under construction just to the north and Interstate 575 is in the process of having high occupancy express lanes installed.
